Signed column chart
MaxThree to ten corner-on cells of equal square footprint stand in one row along a thick plinth whose top is exactly zero. A positive amount rises above the plinth as a prism of exact height; a negative amount is a well cut into the plinth to an exact depth on the same scale, open at the front so its lined walls and floor show the depth. Exact signed values sit above each prism or well mouth, category names on the plinth's front face, and a zero amount is a flat outline.

When to use it
Use for one signed measure across categories in supplied order, such as budget variance by department, monthly net cash flow, year-over-year change by region or profit and loss by product line, when a solid presentation look suits the slide. Colors favorable and unfavorable amounts apart only when the favorable direction is supplied. Not for amounts that are all of one sign and better as plain columns, several measures, running totals, shares of one whole, long category names or precise reading against gridlines.
Adjust after generating
