Treemap: isometric group platforms side by side on one plinth
MaxA two-level treemap in projection: each ordered group is a low colored platform standing beside the next on a neutral plinth, its top area exactly proportional to its total and its name and total on its front face; its parts stand on it as touching shallow blocks whose top areas are exactly proportional to their amounts, shaded by value rank in the group's color, with label, amount and share lying flat on each top that holds them. Smaller tiles are numbered into a key, and zero amounts are listed there without area. Block height is uniform and carries no data.

When to use it
Use to show how one whole divides into groups and parts at once with a solid presentation look: a portfolio by asset class and holding, revenue by region and product, an operating budget by department and program, or headcount by function and team. Suits 4–14 nonnegative amounts in one unit across 2–5 groups. Not for amounts that do not add up to one whole, negative values, changes over time, deeper hierarchies or precise comparison of similar areas.
