Chart: plan and actual ledger
PowerExact planned and actual amounts align with signed difference bars on one shared zero spine. Each measured row retains its source amounts and the calculated actual-minus-plan displacement.

When to use it
For two to five categories of one comparable quantity and unit compared against a plan: budget against spend, staffing plan against headcount, stock orders against receipts, study hours planned against logged, or sales targets against results. Shows where actual amounts differ from plan, preserving the original pair beside the common variance scale. Not for mixed units, inferred performance judgments, percentages, running totals or unsupported forecasts.
