Chart: stacked rose
MaxSix to twelve equal-angle wedges run clockwise from the top in supplied order; each wedge stacks two to four bands outward from a shared zero at the centre, every band's area exactly proportional to its value. Quiet reference rings carry their values on the clearest seam, each wedge's label and exact total sit outside the rim, band values sit inside bands that hold them, and a side key names each part with its exact total and rounded share.

When to use it
Use when a total and its make-up both change around a cycle: incidents by cause per month, support tickets by channel per month, energy use by source per month, visitors by type per weekday. Parts share one unit and add up to a meaningful total; values may be zero. Not for negative values, a single measure (use a plain rose), more than four parts, non-cyclic categories, or precise comparison of the outer bands, whose areas are harder to judge than the inner ones.
