Chart: tile grid map
MaxEqual square tiles placed at supplied rows and columns so the arrangement reads as a map of places without geographic outlines. Each tile carries its exact short code and value and takes a one-hue shade from the lowest value, palest, to the highest. A scale names the value range; a constant set uses a single-value key, places without a value are dashed and keyed separately from zero, and supplied full names appear in a compact key.

When to use it
Use to show one measure across places whose rough arrangement matters, such as customers per million by US state, sales by European country, or incidents by office floor and zone, when every place should be equally visible regardless of its real size. Not for exact geography or distances, places without a short code, values in different units, good-or-bad ratings, or comparing a few named options.
